QoE Distributions in CMCD Statistics

The CMCD Statistics report now has a QoE Distributions tab. It groups playback sessions into buckets so you can see how quality of experience is spread across your audience, not just the averages.

The existing analytics are now on the Overview tab and haven't changed.

What's New?

• Sessions by Measured Throughput (MTP): sessions grouped by average measured throughput, from 0-500 kbps up to 10 Mbps+.
• Headroom Ratio Distribution: sessions grouped by measured throughput divided by delivered bitrate, which shows how much spare bandwidth viewers have.
• Rebuffering Events per Session: how many buffer-starvation events each session had.
• Buffer Length Distribution: sessions grouped by average buffer length.
• Unique Viewers by DMA: unique viewers by Designated Market Area, as a table and a pie chart of the top 20 markets.

You can filter every chart by date, account, ISP, DMA code, environment, and CDN.

Why This Matters

Averages can hide problems. A healthy average bitrate can mask a group of viewers who are short on bandwidth or rebuffering a lot. The distributions show which part of your audience is affected, so you can look into specific ISPs, markets, or CDNs.
