Squeezeback Ads in Live Event Dashboard

Squeezeback ads display an ad creative alongside your live content instead of cutting to a full-screen break. The content is composited at a reduced size while the ad occupies the rest of the screen, so viewers keep watching while the ad is on screen. Two IAB-aligned CTV formats are currently supported: L-Shape and Double Box. (API users can define their own formats).

Creatives come from one of two sources. Workspace creatives are images (L-Shape) or videos (Double Box) you upload to your Creatives library. Ad Server creatives are fetched via a VAST request to your ad server on cue, using targeting key-value pairs you configure. Add squeezebacks to a live event on the Ads tab — individually or in bulk via CSV import — then cue and take them from the Live Events Dashboard during the broadcast. Both sources beacon: Workspace creatives fire Uplynk beacons, and VAST-served squeezebacks add per-session beaconing that registers an ad impression for every viewer device — even though all viewers see the same composited video.

Squeezebacks are currently direct-sold and delivered 1:all — every viewer sees the same insertion. Per-viewer (1:1) targeting and programmatic delivery are in active development.
