Live linear syndication publishing now allows for a cloud region (AWS or Azure) to be designated as the originating physical location for a syndicated stream. This can maximize the reliability of the stream when selecting geographically or network-quality optimal locations, close to the target's location.
This applies to all live linear syndication publishing protocols. Documentation available below:

Today we released an enhancement to the Clipping Tool for customers creating clips from live feeds. Now, the video player can easily be refreshed with the latest video content by clicking the "Refresh Video" button in the lower right corner of the main player.

With this new button, the operator can stay within the Clip Editor, and refresh the player with the most recent video. This leads to a more efficient workflow, for those attempting to cut clips close to live and reach their audiences faster.

Fixes:

  • Live Event metadata lost following the 1st /content_start when slicing with use_brokers=4

  • Rapid calls to slicer API /blackout + /content_start put liveslicer in a bad state

  • Rapid slicer start/shutdown sequence can cause a spurious beam start

Additions:

  • Ad prefetch signaling

  • Liveslicer configuration file support for imagebug

  • An option to workaround liveslicer sample rate misdetection causing slow-motion video

Removals

  • Broker to Encoder Frame by Frame implementation has been disabled (use_brokers=4)

Notice: Unresolved Issue

  • Intermittent crash on beam end/rollover mitigated by running liveslicer as a service: systemd, upstart, or anything else that can restart liveslicer after abnormal termination
