The search under Failover Groups has been improved to allow for partial searches of Failover Groups and Slicers in Failover Groups.

For example, if you search for "tes", all Failover Groups whose name contains the partial string of "tes" will be returned. The search also returns Failover Groups with Slicers that have names that contain "tes".

On April 2, 2025, Uplynk plans to better enforce which DRM is used for Widevine or PlayReady when using the Rights Management Type (rmt) URL parameter. Currently, Uplynk sends DRM information for both Widevine and PlayReady when rmt=pr or rmt=wv, but this increases the time required before an asset can be played back. Going forward, Uplynk is going to strictly enforce the rmt URL parameter so only the DRM information for the DRM specified by the rmt paramter will be sent.

If you are using PlayReady or Widevine DRM, you should make sure that your playback URLs are specifying the DRM you are actually using (rmt=pr for PlayReady or rmt=wv for Widevine) or your playback will fail once we make this change.

If you require the Rights Management Type parameter to work as it currently does on April 2, 2025, contact Support or your Technical Account Manager and we can update your account to maintain the current bevavior.

Slicer Failover documentation has been updated to include more detail and information on the new threshold "severities" feature. This allows for certain failover conditions to be considered more severe than others in terms of failover. Severities range from 1-5 with 5 being the most severe.

Documentation is available below:

We're excited to share that Uplynk's UI has been updated with a refreshed color scheme! As of today, you'll notice a new look that aligns with our evolving brand while keeping everything you love about Uplynk the same. This update is purely visual, no changes to functionality or workflows. We hope you enjoy the fresh new feel!

Playlists can now now have public and private settings to be readable by Player APIs. These APIs allow a player to view playlists and have information about the assets in a playlist.

Under Settings, there is a Playlists selection which allows for global settings for your account. Also, each playlist has its own settings which are overridden by the global settings.

As part of our transition to becoming an independent Uplynk service, we've successfully introduced a new authentication management system for our CMS as of 1 PM ET, January 13, 2025.

What You Need to Do:

  • Password Reset Required: If you haven't already, please reset your password the next time you log in. Existing passwords could not be migrated due to security reasons.

  • Email Address on File: Ensure your account has an active email address to receive the password reset link. If you need to update your email, go to:
Settings > User Settings > Change Email.

  • Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) remains temporarily unavailable. We expect it to be reinstated by January 27th.

  • This update only affects logins made via the user interface (UI) and does not impact system-level APIs.

Important Note: Monitoring Service Authentication

For now, the Monitoring service continues to use the previous authentication method (IDS). Please use your IDS password to log in until we migrate it to the new system.
