  • Nvidia driver 418 or later is required for HEVC 4K HDR/SDR.
  • Mac intel build:
    sudo xattr -d -r com.apple.quarantine uplynk_slicer_mac_64-260108.03.01-master
  • Mac arm64 build:

Playback Tokens have long been available to help secure playback URLs in Syndication HLS-Pull streams. We’ve now added the ability to disable these on a per-job basis for downstream platforms that require playback URLs without query parameters.

This update makes it easier to integrate with platforms that do not accept tokenized URLs, while still allowing you to use playback tokens where supported.

See the documentation for details on when to enable or disable this setting.

Our slicer now supports GIF and APNG (Animated PNG) overlays, giving you an easy way to add motion to your video content.

Animated overlays are great for:

  • Branding, channel bugs, lower third, timers, etc.
  • Eye-catching promos and callouts.
  • Subtle motion graphics that boost viewer engagement without interrupting playback.

These animated overlays are supported both as standard overlays and within Squeezeback, so you can maintain consistent branding and visual context even when your content is resized.

We're thrilled to announce the general availability of Accounts 2.0, our improved account management system.

The goal of Uplynk Accounts 2.0 is to make it easier for an Uplynk customer to manage their content and accounts. Content is detached from individual Uplynk users, improving overall security and allowing more flexibility.

Uplynk Accounts 2.0 will exist concurrently with existing logins until existing logins can be migrated.

Benefits

Accounts 2.0 provides the following benefits over our legacy account management:

  • SSO provides corporate security and user control.
  • Users are auto provisioned via SSO so no more manual processes required.
  • Uplynk customers have the ability have their own administrators.
  • Can control user permissions per job function.
  • Individual users do not “own” content so no account switching required.

Questions or Concerns?

Our Technical Account Managers and Support Teams will be reaching out to you for migrating your existing logins to use Accounts 2.0.

Have you wanted to use our more advanced channels that support scheduling, but required blackouts on those channels so you couldn't use them? We have great news for you!

Our advanced channels now support blackout capability via our Uplynk CMS and APIs.

We’re excited to introduce Squeezebacks, a new way to control your live video layout by resizing and repositioning the main program feed. This gives you the flexibility to display additional on-screen elements such as graphics, promos, or informational content - without interrupting the live stream.

With the new Effects API, you can instantly switch between fullscreen and squeezeback layouts using either precise coordinates or a simplified preset (L-Bar). Optional transitions provide smooth visual changes when adjusting layouts.

What you can do with Squeezebacks

  • Shrink and reposition the main video feed to a defined region of the screen.
  • Use pixel-based or layout-based controls.
  • Set optional backgrounds behind the squeezed video.
  • Instantly return to fullscreen at any time.
  • Apply optional transitions, such as fade or move.

Check out our documentation for more information, and if you have questions or feedback, our Support team is always here to help.

We’re excited to introduce a new Live Viewers report that gives you a clearer, more immediate view into how audiences are engaging with your live streams.

This report provides near–real-time insights into live viewership over the last 24 hours, including:

  • Total, peak, average, and minimum viewers.
  • Rolling channel and event performance for the most recent 120 minutes.
  • Viewer distribution by platform and country.
  • Top channels and events by peak concurrency.

Whether you’re monitoring major events or tracking day-to-day channel trends, the Live Viewers report helps you understand where your audience is, how they’re watching, and when engagement is strongest.

You can explore the full breakdown in the Live Viewers section of the Analytics dashboard. Check out our documentation for more information, and if you have questions or feedback, our Support team is always here to help.

You asked for the ability to control your CDN delivery and we listened! We have introduced a new Multi CDN user interface to allow you to dynamically control your CDN distribution between Uplynk's default CDN and your own CDN(s) of choice.

What’s New?

  • Intuitive UI: This new UI allows an easy selection of CDN distribution.
  • Dynamic Control: On your live and linear streams, changes to your CDN distribution will take place in about one minute.
  • Bring Your Own CDN: For increased modularity, you can now easily use your own CDN(s) with Uplynk.

Why This Matters

This feature allows you to dynamically change CDN distributions on-the-fly to balance cost, performance, or both.

Questions or Concerns?

If you are interested in using this feature, your CDN(s) need to be onboarded by us. Please reach out to our Support team - we’re here to help.
