Assets
Playback statistics, country breakdown, and inventory counts for your VOD assets.
The Assets page in Analytics has two tabs:
- An "Overview" tab that provides an Asset Summary report.
- An "Inventory" tab that reports the total number of assets in the Uplynk account, with breakdowns for files (VOD), clips, live events (Events), or live channels (Live).
Overview Tab
The Asset Summary report provides the following analytics for your CMS assets:
ASSET PLAYBACK STATISTICS
Analyze asset-specific statistics.

| Asset Description | Indicates the asset's name. |
| Channel Hours | Indicates the number of hours that assets were played as a result of a live channel. |
| Event Hours | Indicates the number of hours that assets were played as a result of a live event. |
| VOD Hours | Indicates the number of hours that assets were played as on-demand content. |
| Total Hours Watched | Indicates the total number of hours that assets were played. |
| Asset Views | Indicates the total number of times that assets were requested as a result of a live channel, live event, or VOD. |

ENCODING BREAKDOWN
Breaks down your encoding analytics.
| Analytic | Details |
|---|---|
| Content Type | The content to included in the report. Select from: All, Channel, Event, VOD. |
| Asset Description | The name created for the asset. |
| Slicer Name | The name of the slicer associated with the content. |
| Account | The name of the account associated with the asset. |
| Profile Rate Card | The encoding profiles used by the Cloud Slicers to encode your content. |
Generate the Asset Summary report

Navigate to the Asset Summary page. From the main menu, select Analytics and then select Asset Summary from the left-hand pane.

Select the Controls bar to define this report.

Optional. Generate a report for a different time period. From the Time Range option, select either:
- Predefined date range (e.g.,
Previous day,This day, andLast ndays). - Custom date range. From the Date range option, set a start and end date/time.
By default, all dates/times are specified in UTC.

Optional: Generate a report for a different or multiple accounts:
- Select the Account drop-down.
- Optional. Search for an account by typing its name.
- Add accounts to the report by marking the desired accounts.
- Remove accounts from the report by clearing the desired accounts.

Optional. Filter report data by asset(s).
a. Select the Assets drop-down to filter by CMS assets.
b. Mark the assets that will be included in the report.
c. Clear the assets that will be excluded from the report.
Inventory Tab
The Inventory report provides the following analytics for the CMS assets a user has access to across one or more Uplynk accounts:
STORED ASSET STATISTICS
Stored asset-specific statistics.

| Total Assets | Indicates the total number of all assets contained in the user's viewable accounts. |
| Clip | Indicates the total number of clips contained in the user's viewable accounts. |
| Event | Indicates the total number of Live Events contained in the user's viewable accounts. |
| External | Indicates the total number of externally-stored assets (using SmartPlay: Ingest) contained in the user's viewable accounts. |
| File | Indicates the total number of Uplynk-generated VOD assets contained in the user's viewable accounts. |
| Live | Indicates the total number of Live Channels contained in the user's viewable accounts. |
If a user has access to more than one Uplynk account, they can select which account the stored assets statistics are displayed for.
A graph displays "Number Of Assets By Creation Time" so you can monitor your asset creation rate for all asset types.
OVERVIEW
The Overview report lists the actual assets summarized in the reports above, with filtering based on asset type.
This report is useful for finding unexpected asset types. For example, if you generally do not use clips but clips appear here, you can use this report to identify what they are.
